A Walk to Remember

When visiting in Washington we went for a walk right by the place we used to live before I graduated from high school. It was fun to be there again with my family. My brother and sister-in-law, Beege and Lolly, brought their two dogs with them and Grandpa and Nonna brought Zoey. The kids were sized up and assigned to dogs to walk down to the river. This is Zack with Nanook, the big and sweet Malamute.

Owen got to walk Chinook, the cute medium-sized Collie dog. Like Lassie, she is pretty smart! Owen giggled the whole way.

Avery was in charge of the littlest, Zoey the Sharpei. It was cute to see the two of them walking along in the sunshine. I am not sure if they ever decided who was really walking who!

Avery loves to talk to Grandpa. He was happy to lend a listening ear, although I am not sure if he really knows much about the Littlest Pet Shop or Strawberry Shortcake.

Along the way Avery found a giant Queen Anne's Lace. She took a big whiff of it and was so disappointed that it didn't smell pretty. It is a weed after all, but it sure is beautiful.

We made it to the river where both kids and dogs couldn't resist the urge to splash and play.

Nonna looking cute as always! Love the jewelry - you must be really loved! ;)

Lolly enjoying the scenery. You can't see it but her shirt reads, "Cute, but psycho!" It's a cute little penguin all wrapped up in a straight jacket. She reassured us it was all about the penguin, not her!

What a fun day to enjoy summer. I love visiting family back home and creating such fond memories for my children to look back on.
